Photos Aren’t Files — They’re About Your Life
Free Up Space, Keep What Matters

Terms of Service

The terms that apply to Feathy and to this website.

Last updated 9 September 2026

1. Who these terms are between

Feathy is made by QIN Qin, an independent developer based in France, European Union. These terms are an agreement between you and the developer, covering your use of this website and of the Feathy app. They are not an agreement with Apple.

If you disagree with any part of them, please do not use Feathy.

Contact: hello.feathy@outlook.com

2. Your licence to use the app

Feathy is distributed through the App Store and is licensed to you under Apple’s standard End User Licence Agreement — the licence shown on Feathy’s App Store listing — which you accept when you download it. Apple’s agreement governs the licence itself; these terms describe what Feathy does, what it does not promise, and how purchases work.

You may use Feathy on the devices your Apple Account allows. You may not resell it, rent it, reverse-engineer it beyond what the law permits, or use it to break the law or to interfere with anyone else’s device or data.

3. What Feathy does

Feathy helps you manage your own iPhone photo library through Clean Up, Relive and Tuck Away. Analysis runs on your device. Feathy has no account system and no server that receives your photo library. How your information is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Feathy requires iOS 17 or later and the photo-library permission you grant in iOS.

4. What you are responsible for

This is the part that matters most, so it is stated plainly.

Feathy is not a backup service. It stores no copy of your photos anywhere. Before you remove anything, keep your own backup — iCloud Photos, a computer, or wherever you prefer.

You confirm every deletion. Feathy shows you the exact items and the space they occupy, and every removal goes through Apple’s own confirmation. Deleted items normally go to Photos → Recently Deleted, where Apple keeps them for about 30 days before removing them permanently. Space is only reclaimed once they leave that album.

Setting photos aside is not deletion, and cannot be undone from inside Feathy. Tucked-away photos move to Apple’s Hidden album. iOS gives no app a supported way to un-hide them, so you restore them in Apple Photos.

Automatic detection is a suggestion, not a verdict. Similar, duplicate and blurry detection can be wrong in both directions: it can miss things and it can flag a photo you wanted. Nothing is removed unless you select it and confirm.

You are responsible for the choices you make in the app, and for having your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

5. Purchases, prices and refunds

Feathy Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Family Sharing is supported where Apple enables it.

Apple processes every payment. The developer never receives your card details, and prices are set per App Store region and shown to you by Apple before you buy, including tax where it applies.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by the developer. The developer cannot issue a refund. Requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, under Apple’s terms. If you are in the European Union, your statutory rights apply in addition to this — see section 9.

Prices may change for future purchases. A change never affects a purchase you have already made.

6. Using Feathy without paying

You can install Feathy, scan your whole library and clear roughly your first gigabyte without paying and without an account. That free allowance is a courtesy, measured by the app on your device, and may be adjusted in future versions. It does not expire on a timer.

7. What we do not promise

Feathy is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will be free of every defect, that detection will be accurate in every case, that it will be compatible with every future version of iOS, or that it will always be available on the App Store.

We do not promise that using Feathy will free any particular amount of space. What can be reclaimed depends on your own library.

Nothing in this section removes rights you have by law. In particular, if you are a consumer in the European Union, your statutory guarantees remain — see section 9.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, the developer’s total liability to you for any claim connected with Feathy is limited to the amount you actually paid for it.

The developer is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of photos, videos or other data where you had no backup.

This limit does not apply to death or personal injury caused by negligence, to fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, to gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or to anything else that the law does not allow to be limited — including the statutory guarantees owed to consumers.

9. Your rights as a consumer

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep the mandatory protections of the country where you live. Nothing in these terms reduces them.

Under French law, that includes the legal guarantee of conformity (garantie légale de conformité, articles L. 217-3 and following of the Code de la consommation) and the guarantee against hidden defects (garantie des vices cachés, articles 1641 and following of the Code civil).

Because the app is sold to you by Apple, claims about the transaction itself — payment, refund, invoicing — are handled under Apple’s terms. Claims about the app’s conformity may be raised with the developer at the address above.

The European Commission also provides an online dispute-resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We would rather you wrote to us first.

10. This website

This site is published by the developer to describe Feathy, host its privacy policy and support information, and provide press materials. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and asks for no account.

The Feathy name, icon and page text belong to the developer. Press materials on the press page may be used to write about Feathy. Screenshots and the demo video may be reproduced in coverage of the app.

11. Changes

Feathy will change: features are added, altered and sometimes removed. These terms may be updated when that happens, or when the law requires it. The current version is always published here with the date of its last update. Continuing to use Feathy after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, you can stop using the app.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the European Union or European Economic Area, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
